From time to time, Gonzales Research conducts surveys of registered voters

conducted by Gonzales Research & Marketing Strategies, Inc. from September 2nd
through September 7th, 2001. A total of 809 registered voters in
Maryland who indicated they were likely to vote in next year’s general election
were interviewed by telephone. A cross-section of calls was made into each
jurisdiction within the state to reflect general election voting patterns.

George W. Bush lost the State of Maryland by 17 points in November of 2000,
but this survey, taken a month after his inauguration, shows the President doing
reasonably well with Free State voters. Also featured are questions on Bush's
tax proposal, the electoral college, and the 2004 Democratic primary.

This survey was commissioned by Planned Parenthood of
Maryland, Inc. to assess knowledge and awareness about emergency contraception
among the public in general, and among younger women in particular.

August 2000 Media poll - Part 1-- In
our February survey, Republican John McCain was the presidential candidate with
the highest favorable name ID number in Maryland, at 53%.
In this survey, that distinction belongs to Al Gore, who matches
McCain’s 53% favorable rating, up from the 48% the Vice President scored six
months ago. Gore’s unfavorable
rating remains unchanged at 34%, and 13% view him neutrally.

April 2003
-- This survey has the latest numbers on Martin O'Malley and the September
mayoral primary in Baltimore City.

May 2000 Survey -- The subjects of the poll are Baltimore Mayor Martin
O'Malley's job performance, O'Malley's law enforcement policies, and a ranking
of the City's
four most recent mayors. This is
the first survey on O'Malley since his election in November of 1999.
There is also a question on the guilt or innocence of Baltimore Ravens
linebacker Ray Lewis as his goes on trial for murder in Atlanta.
December 1999 MCEA Survey -- In the fall
of 1999, Montgomery County Superintendent of Schools Jerry Weast set his focus
on what he called the “achievement gap,” that is, the gap in academic
achievement between white and Asian students on one hand, and African-American
and Hispanic students on the other. In December, the Montgomery County Education
Association surveyed its members on what they believed were the causes of the
“achievement gap," and on which programs and efforts would be most
effective in closing the gap.
